What we do in the present develop a character which will lead the way to becoming the best version of ourselves. There is no such thing as an overnight success. It is a constant progress which contributes to a bigger picture of who we are. How we shape our thoughts, our life’s perspective and our action determine what kind of person we want to become.

Although self-development is a lifelong process, we can start by deciding to become the best version of ourselves EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Here are some tips to unleash your full potential and become the best version of yourself:

1. Never Stop Learning

Reading will give us insights on how to be the best version of ourselves.
Become your best through reading.

Warren Buffet spends 80% of his time reading books. Mark Zuckerberg reads at least 1 book every 2 weeks. Bill Gates manages to read 50 books a year which comes down to 1 book per week.

These are few successful individuals who share most of their time reading and learning.

The moment you stop learning is the time you start dying. The key to living a life with your utmost potential is to develop a habit of continually looking for ways to improve yourself. Self-growth is an integral part of becoming the best version of yourself.

In case you find yourself wasting your time like playing video games of hitting likes on social media, why not hit the books or your computer and try to find videos that might be of help for your growth.

2. Develop Meaningful Goals

Set better goals.
Set better goals.

By definition, a goal is an idea of the future or desired result of a person or a group of people envisions, plans and commits to achieve. It is something that directs the person to his destination.

A clear and specific goal is necessary to achieve the desired result you want. But more than achieving things, build meaningful goals. Achieve goals that get you excited to wake up in the morning. It is something that gives you the significance of why you are doing what you are doing and understanding what your purpose in life really is. When you do this, you are not only creating a much better version of yourself but a person with value and purpose

3. Decide To Be Your Best Each Day

It’s not always how many times you fail that matters, it is how many times you stand up and try again. Failure is not the end of one’s journey; giving up is.

If you may fail at some point, take it as a lesson and learn from them. Failure is a success if learning is present. Decide to be better each day by learning from your failures, committing yourself to develop new skills and become a better version of yourself. One day, you will just realize how far you have gone and thank yourself for not giving up.

4. Never Doubt Yourself

Doubting will inhibit your full potential.
Doubting will inhibit your full potential.

No one knows what you are capable of doing besides yourself. The greatest challenge and the greatest obstacle that you may face is your own doubt, your own fears and your own conditioned of thoughts.

In life, you may battle against the external circumstance, the doubters, the haters, the people who try to pull you down, but if you have a strong belief about yourself and of who you are, then no doubts of others can cloud your judgment. As the African Proverb says: “When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm“.

5. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Do not be afraid to step out and unleash your potential.
Do not be afraid to step out and unleash your potential.

Have you ever gotten anxious whether you could get a client right away? Does freelancing really work for you? Do you also question your ability whether you good for the tasks?

These are just common questions when you step into something that you are not very much familiar–something that goes beyond your routine, your comfort zone.

Getting out of the comfort zone is a crucial thing. It’s easy to fall into a trap of not pushing yourself to get out of your comfort but the problem is, you will never get to where you are supposed to be. Unfortunately, many want to do more in life, to have financial freedom, to work home-based to have more quality time with family but very few take risks and challenge themselves because they are afraid to let go of the “normal” routine that they are used to.

If you lack necessary skills, get yourself a coach, if you need motivation, listen to motivational speakers or read motivational books to uplift your spirit, if you are afraid to do something, do it anyway. “Only when you stop letting fears and anxiety hold you back, will you start to make those major breakthroughs in life” .
